Selected Works

A few pieces that explain the rest.

This is not an archive. It is a short, cross-disciplinary selection: a handful of works from research, cinema, animation, maker practice and live presence, chosen because each one carries a clear idea. The discipline pages explain the meaning of each field; this page shows the evidence.

Selected, not complete.

Each entry follows the same rule: one strong visual, one precise paragraph, one reason it matters. Visuals are placeholders until final assets and source references are attached.

Visual placeholder · Scientific visualization

Science

Imaging the invisible

Scientific imaging and visualization work that turns biological structure into something legible and spatial — making hidden systems readable before any story is told about them.

Why it matters: it is the origin of the whole method — seeing a system clearly comes before showing it.

Internal document required

Animated frame from Perpetuum Mobile showing the Alchemist in a workshop holding a floating mechanical instrument.

3D Animation · Short Film

Perpetuum Mobile

A world of invention, memory and motion, where mechanics become emotion and visual storytelling begins with structure.

Why it matters: it shows how Mr.Q’s work connects mathematics, design, cinematic storytelling and world-building.

Founder claim – needs verification

Animated frame from Daisy Cutter showing a young girl in a grassy field with a tank in the background.

Animated Short Film · Candidate for an Academy Award nomination

Daisy Cutter

A child’s quiet gesture unfolds against the distant machinery of war. The image captures the emotional core of Daisy Cutter: innocence framed by violence, rendered through cinematic animation.

Why it matters: it shows Mr.Q’s ability to use animation not just as technique, but as emotional storytelling with international recognition.

External verification required

Frame from Hiroku. Defensores de Gaia showing a futuristic orbital structure above Earth.

Goya-Nominated Animated Feature Film

Hiroku. Defensores de Gaia

Through SILVERSPACE, the work extended into feature-scale production: a Spanish animated feature set in a science-fiction universe of orbital structures and large-scale world building, nominated for the Goya Award for Best Animated Film.

Why it matters: Hiroku demonstrates scale — longer productions, larger teams and feature-film scope.

Verified external source

Prototype ventilator electronics and enclosure design shown alongside hand-drawn engineering sketches, measuring tools and components.

Maker · Engineering · Rapid Prototyping

Pandemic Ventilator Prototype

Designed and built during the first weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic: electronics, mechanical design, fabrication and rapid iteration under real-world constraints, moving from problem to design to prototype.

Why it matters: the Maker layer is not about gadgets — it is the ability to turn ideas into physical systems.

Founder archive

Custom quadruped robot with blue articulated legs and yellow body designed and built by Mr.Q.

Robotics · Design · Fabrication

Man-Cheetah

A custom quadruped robot designed, fabricated and programmed as an exploration of locomotion and machine intelligence: mechanical design, fabrication, electronics, control systems and software in one working machine.

Why it matters: robotics is where structure, motion, control, sensing and iteration converge into one physical system.

Founder archive

Multiple generations of custom quadruped robots shown side by side with a ruler for scale.
Evolution of a quadruped: iteration over years of development.
Custom bioprinter control system developed as part of the Open3DBio project.

Bioprinting · Fabrication · Open Hardware

Open3DBio

A custom bioprinter project that combined mechanical design, electronics, software, digital fabrication and rapid prototyping into one integrated system for experimental bioprinting.

Why it matters: some projects create objects; others create the tools used to create them — Open3DBio is about building instruments, not only using them.

Founder archive

Concept character developed as part of the Porco IO creative exploration project.

Generative Characters · Digital Storytelling

Porco IO

An active exploration of how emerging creative technologies can accelerate character design, visual development and storytelling — systems that join human direction, iteration and imagination rather than replace the artist.

Why it matters: every generation discovers new creative tools; Porco IO explores what happens when those tools become collaborative.

Founder project

Synthetic female character named Virginia, created for the Crystal Bull digital creation project.

Synthetic Character · Digital Creation · Generative AI

Crystal Bull — Virginia

Virginia is a synthetic character developed as part of Crystal Bull, an ongoing digital creation project exploring characters, future worlds and AI-assisted visual storytelling — generative technologies used as creative instruments in a directed process of image-making, iteration and world-building.

Why it matters: it represents AI as a creative medium, guided, curated and shaped by human visual direction, extending Mr.Q’s work into new forms of digital creation.

Visual placeholder · Live presence

Convergence

Live presence through another person’s eyes

The piece where every discipline meets: imaging, 3D, cinema, robotics, intelligent systems and real-time streaming brought together to make presence itself streamable.

Why it matters: it is the reason the other works belong on one page — they converge here.
